Pet Sitters Week March 4-10

This week is National Pet Sitters week and to celebrate you can catch us at the Korthright Dog Park on Saturday March 10th giving away Doggy Bags from 11:00 am - 2:00pm. If you can't make that we will also be at the new Global Pet Foods at Imperial and Highway 24 from 2:30 - 3:30pm.

Should I take some time off work when I first get my puppy?

HELPFUL HINT: If you are bringing a new dog home, DO NOT take vacation time to spend the first couple days at home with the pup. This will only cause him anxiety as he will learn this routine and in a few days when he is left at home while you are at work it will be difficult for him to cope.

Introduce your new dog to the regular routine on Day 1. This will make things easier for both you and your new family member :)

How to Induce Vomiting

If your dog eats some toxic (i.e. chocolate, avocado, grapes, antifreeze) you can induce vomiting to empty these toxic substances from their stomach.

How you ask?
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, you would use 1 tsp(5 ml) per 10 lbs of body weight.

HOWEVER, some substances (i.e. PAINT THINNER) can cause much damage on its way back up and should be neutralized in the dogs stomach by the vet.
